Jóhann Jóhannsson, who had worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival, was announced as composer. Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch joined in July 2017. In September, Jóhannsson's agent confirmed that he was no longer involved with the film, and that he was contractually forbidden from commenting on the situation.
Epic Records has announced the official soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King) and Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Annabelle Creation, Hidden Figures) have composed the film’s original music. The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition 2-CD . A digital version is set to be released on October 6, 2017. Blade Runner 2049 starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto takes place thirty years after the events of the original film and follows a new blade runner who unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. The movie will be released on October 6, 2017 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
